Public Safety Telecommunicator

Echo911 is currently accepting applications for the role of Public Safety Telecommunicator.

Echo911 is a consolidated dispatch center providing contracted dispatching and radio communication services to public safety agencies in all 50 states.

We serve both governmental and corporate clients, including Police, Fire, EMS, Constables, Process Servers, and Private Security. We also provide dispatching for parking enforcement, towing services, utilities (water/gas), and other critical communication needs.

Our Huntsville, Alabama location is hiring a minimum of three full-time Public Safety Telecommunicators immediately. Shifts will be full-time, with specific scheduling to be determined based on operational needs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay: $18/hour – $22/hour depending on experience*
  • Post-probation pay range: $20/hour – $25/hour*
  • 6-month training and probationary period
  • Eligible applicants with APCO International Telecommunicator Certification and/or current EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch) certification receive a $500 sign-on bonus
  • Applicants with a current NCIC Certification receive an additional $500 sign-on bonus
  • Annual cost-of-living and performance-based raises

*The listed pay rates represent our base range. Applicants with extensive Public Safety Telecommunicator experience and/or advanced certifications may be eligible for a higher starting wage and a substantial sign-on bonus.

Important Scheduling Requirements

Please understand that as a provider of critical public safety communications, Echo911 operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including all holidays. The "Public Safety Telecommunicator" role is essential to this mission.

Therefore, we cannot guarantee fixed schedules or shifts. Applicants must be available and willing to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned. Furthermore, you may be subject to mandatory overtime or be placed on-call to cover staffing needs, major incidents, or natural disasters. Schedule changes may occur with little advance notice based on the immediate needs of the agencies we serve. This flexibility is a fundamental and non-negotiable part of the position.
