Why PS35

The radio changed. The job didn't.

Three reasons agencies are trading legacy P25 handhelds for PS35 — none of them are the radio itself. It's the network, the encryption, and the management story behind it.

  • Nationwide by default. PS35 roams multiple carriers with V-SIM network selection, with satellite failover options for disaster zones where supported. No tower leases, no repeater builds.
  • Two AES-256 layers, always on. Every talkgroup is encrypted at the radio and re-encrypted in transit. Keys rotate over the air without taking a radio off the belt.
  • Update the fleet from your desk. Over-the-air programming, firmware, and diagnostics. Push a new channel plan to 200 radios in minutes.

FAQ

Answers, before you call.

Does the PS35 require any tower infrastructure on our end? +
No. PS35 is a cellular-based MCPTT radio that roams carrier towers — you don't own, maintain, or lease any. The only on-site equipment is optional: a desktop charger and a vehicle charger if you want in-car rapid charging.
Is it compatible with our existing P25 or DMR fleet? +
Not over the air directly, but Echo911 bridges your P25/DMR talkgroups into MCPTT channels via Telex IP-224 gateways and C-Soft consoles. Agencies typically run mixed fleets during the transition, then retire legacy handhelds at end of service life.
How is encryption managed? Do we handle key material? +
Optional. Echo911 can manage keys for you as a service, or provision customer-managed key handling for agencies with specific requirements. Key rotation is fully over-the-air either way — no radio retrieval.
What's the warranty? +
Two-year standard warranty covering manufacturer defects. Optional advanced protection plans are available — common on patrol and field deployments.
