How do I purchase products or start services with Echo911? +
Our sales team works with you to determine the best solution for your needs, followed by a quote. If accepted, an order is placed, onboarding and training are completed, and equipment ships. For private security and special police we can set up an account and ship equipment in as little as 24 hours. For government or dedicated dispatch customers, typical turnaround is about 30 days. Start with the solution builder or a quote at customer.echo911.com.
Can I purchase Echo911 radios without dispatch service? +
Yes. Mission Critical Push to Talk (MCPTT) radios and service are available standalone — use them with your own dispatch center, an existing console, or no dispatch at all. The network is a nationwide digital IP backbone with multi-carrier priority data — AT&T FirstNet, Verizon Frontline, and T-Mobile First Responder — plus international roaming on 4G/5G data providers in 170+ countries and SpaceX Starlink satellite add-on coverage where needed.
Can I use Command & Dispatch CAD without Echo911 radios? +
Yes. Command & Dispatch is a standalone CAD platform. It integrates with Echo911 MCPTT, but it does not require it — bring your existing radio system.
Can Echo911 integrate with an existing VHF, UHF, P25, or DMR system? +
Yes. We bridge LMR systems to MCPTT and dispatch using Telex IP-224 gateways and C-Soft consoles, with radio-over-IP patching between legacy channels and Mission Critical Push to Talk (MCPTT) talkgroups.
Why does Echo911 need certain types of information during onboarding? +
Safety: we need officer names and phone numbers so we can reach them if radio contact fails, and provide names to responding police, fire, or EMS if requested. Efficiency: some information shouldn't be shared over the radio, so we keep onboarding information in a secure, searchable database. Accountability: we need to know who is responsible and who in your chain of command to contact if something occurs.
Can my company share radios? What about across multiple sites with dispatch? +
No. This is a safety issue — it's critical that our dispatch team knows who is who and where they are. Unit numbers exist for a reason. Ambulance and government services may be exempt; speak with our sales team for details.
Is there a demo period? +
Echo911 offers demos for government clients, due to the nature of setting up and patching networks tied to 911 operations. For all other clients, there is a 2-week money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied — equipment must be returned in working, like-new condition.
My company has never used radios or a dispatch center. How do I know this is right for me? +
Our team of experienced first responders and dispatchers makes radios and dispatch easy. We'll listen to your needs and give our best advice on what services make sense for you. Our Radio Use & Etiquette Guide is a good place to start.
Where is Echo911 located? +
Headquarters are in Huntsville, Alabama, with two consolidated dispatch centers — one in the Huntsville metro area and one in the Birmingham metro area. Products and services are available globally; dispatching services cover all 50 United States.
How does billing work? +
Most clients are billed monthly, with payments typically due the 1st of the month unless prior arrangements are made. If service starts before the 16th, your first bill is prorated lower; if service starts after the 16th, you owe the remainder of that month plus the first full month, so the first bill is temporarily higher.
Can I buy radios now and add dispatch later? +
Yes. Private public safety operations that own their radios can add professional dispatch a la carte — no all-inclusive contract required. Dedicated user dispatch is $80/user/month, or shared radio dispatch is $250/shared radio/month, plus a flat $40/month account administration fee (one fee per account, regardless of users or radios). Estimate your monthly cost here.
Does Echo911 have payment plans? +
Echo911 does not offer payment plans. We recommend contacting your local bank or credit union to establish a line of credit if financing is needed. Managed lease options can reduce or eliminate upfront equipment cost — ask sales.
What do I do when I have billing or account questions? +
Please do not call dispatch. Agency administrators: submit a ticket through the customer billing portal — our administrative division has someone on call 24/7 to assist you. End users (officers and agency personnel) needing equipment or service help can use tech support, no account required.
How do dispatch channels work with Echo911? +
All clients have the option of their own dispatch and private channels. Government public safety agencies mostly have their own secure dispatch channel, though some use a regional metro channel shared by agencies in one area. Private businesses can save money with a shared dispatcher program or pay for dedicated dispatchers and private channels. All options and price points are presented during sales and onboarding. Compare Shared Regional, Semi-Dedicated, and Dedicated dispatch here.
What data can I access instantly vs. what has to be requested? +
CAD data can be accessed by Echo911 clients at any time. GPS logs, radio traffic, video surveillance, and phone calls must be requested by an agency administrator through the customer billing portal — typically filled in 1–2 days. Emergency records requests can be handled in as little as 1 hour; contact your dispatch number to start one.
Does my organization need to use 10-codes? +
No. But if you opt to use 10-codes, you must use the codes Echo911 dispatch personnel are trained on. View the Echo911 10-codes and phonetic alphabet.
Can you take calls for service from my clients or employees? +
Yes. This is useful for private security — for example a private neighborhood or a large multi-building campus. If requested, we assign a personalized local phone number for your clients to call and request service. We do not answer questions about your business practices, pricing, coverage, or employment.
How do I cancel service? +
An agency administrator should submit a ticket through the customer billing portal noting that you wish to cancel. Accounts must be up to date with no outstanding balances; radios on a payment plan must be paid off or returned. Echo911 often buys back fully-paid radios.
I bought a used Echo911 radio from someone else. Can I use it with Echo911 services? +
Yes. Submit a ticket through the customer billing portal (or tech support if you don't have an account yet) with the radio details — we'll confirm the sale with the previous owner. If the radio's prior account has a past-due balance, we won't activate it until the balance is paid in full.
